10-24: Monday:

Speech
TIWL: to use effective group skills to accomplish our task and to review for test.
1. QOD - Explain the difference between norming and performing in groups.
2. Test Tomorrow!!! Turn in Study Guides on test day.
3. Practice "KISSES" (group skills) while presenting Mandalas.
4. Test review. TEST TOMORROW - STUDY TONIGHT!
5. Song and Artist Speech coming up. Lyrics due Wednesday/Thursday!

Theatre I
TIWL: to evaluate my use of space with slightly exaggerated mouth and body
movements.
1. Finish performing lip syncs.
2. Hand out evaluation papers.
3. Continue lip sync evaluations. Watch 2 minutes of each lip sync, then
evaluate. BE SURE TO LEAVE ONE BLOCK TO EVALUATE YOURSELF.

10-25: Tuesday:

Speech
TIWL: to prove I know speech information by reading the test carefully and selecting
the best answers.
1. QOD - Do most classroom small groups use formal or informal leaders?
Explain why.
2. Group KISSES evaluations.
3. Turn in Study Guide.
4. UNIT TEST.
5. Song and Artist Speech coming up. Lyrics due tomorrow or Thursday at the latest!

Theatre I
TIWL: to begin the reading rehearsal.
1. Announce play cast and back stage crews.
2. Begin first reading rehearsal.
3. Begin memorizing your parts at home!

10-26: Wednesday:

Speech
TIWL: to organize an informative speech
1. QOD - What should an introductory paragraph for a good speech include?
2. Read directions and timeline for first formal speech about a song and artist.
3. Turn in lyrics. Due today or tomorrow!
4. Begin Group Speech Organization Unit
a. Read and compile group information on the Formula for Writing Speeches.

Theatre I
TIWL: to view stage positions, lights, curtains, etc. and finish the reading rehearsal.
1. Read theater etiquette.
2. Visit the stage. Learn the lights and stage positions.
3. New seating chart.
4. Finish reading rehearsal. If time, begin blocking rehearsal.
Mark your blocking in your script!

10-27: Thursday:

Speech
TIWL: to organize an informative speech
1. QOD - Select one of the six hooks and write a possible attention device for
your song and artist speech.
2. Finish compiling Group Speech Organization assignment.
3. Go to library to research and type your own Song and Artist speech.

Theatre I
TIWL: (stage crew) to write back stage crew ideas on script while blocking the play
(actors) and to memorize and write my positions on the stage.
1. Block the play and write blocking on your script.
EVERYONE.
2. Also, write in ideas for back stage crews such as lighting ideas, sounds needed,
props needed, costumes and make-up necessary, etc.

10-28: Friday:

Speech
TIWL: to organize an informative speech and to continue typing or writing my
song and artist speech.
1. QOD - What is a preview and where is it located in a speech?
2. Read conclusion information. Write a short conclusion for your group speech.
3. Library: Continue typing or writing your speech with ALL the sections necessary.
Follow the Formula for Writing Speeches.
