9-19: Monday:

Speech:
TIWL: to write important information about listening.
1. QOD – List some of the negative results that occur when students
do not actively listen in class or at home.
2. Read through Developing Positive Listening Skills guide. Then fill in
the guide during the DVD.
3. Chapter 1-4 Test Thursday!
Study chapter questions (pink sandwich) and QODs. Gather papers.
Make flash cards for more difficult terms.
4. We will correct your pink Listening Word Hunt tomorrow.

Theatre I
TIWL: to cooperate in a mature manner and participate in movement.
1. Group warm-ups.
2. Get in your groups and decide on the best two machines to perform.
3. Practice Group Machines and perform when ready.

9-20: Tuesday:

Speech
TIWL: to show an understanding of the levels of listening.
1. QOD – List one physical, one mental, and one cultural barrier
to listening.
2. Finish Chap. 4 Listening Word Hunt (pink) and grade.
3. Discuss yesterday's DVD.
4. Role play levels of listening.
5. Chapter 1-4 Test Thursday!
Study chapter questions and QODs. Gather papers.
Make flash cards for more difficult terms.

Theatre I
TIWL: to show a clear pantomime.
1. Read lip sync directions. Lyrics due in 9 days!
2. Watch previous lip syncs.

9-21: Wednesday:

Speech
TIWL: to review for Chap 1-4 Test
1. QOD – What is the difference between listening for information and
critical listening? Give an example of each.
2. Hand back all papers.
3. Play Stay and Stray Cafe -- (reviewing the listening levels)
4. Test Jeopardy review– You will have to draw the communication model
on the test!
5. TEST IS TOMORROW! STUDY YOUR PINK SANDWICH!!!

Theatre I
TIWL: to show a clear pantomime.
1. Hand back all past papers.
2. Lip sync lyrics due Wednesday, 9/28!
3. Pantomimes - What's in the box?
4. Double Image directions and homework assignment.

9-22: Thursday:

Speech
TIWL: to select the best choices on the Chap 1-4 test.
1. QOD – Give an example of an emphatic gesture and a
descriptive gesture.
2. Chapter 1-4 Test - You will need one sheet of paper and a #2 pencil.
When finished, place the test and answer sheet in 2 piles on the front table.
Place your essay sheet in the class basket.

TIWL: to show a clear pantomime with details and to focus so I can repeat
another’s pantomime.
1. Warm-ups and begin performing Double Image.
2. Lip sync lyrics due Wednesday, 9/28!

9-23:Friday:

Speech
TIWL: to practice and show active listening
1. QOD – What are the main qualities involved in active listening?
Turn in QODs.
2. Listen and speak using the Hot Topic Listening Activity.

another’s pantomime.
1. Warm-ups and continue performing Double Image.
